Exploring India’s Premier Tiger Reserves

Wildlife enthusiasts often visit India to see tigers, as this country has a sizeable number of tigers in different parts of the country.

There are a few numbers of India national parks where tiger population can be seen. All these parks are well preserved by the government of India so that their population grow.

Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan

Ranthambore National Park is located in the Rajasthan state of India, which is famous for royal kings in India. This park in Rajasthan has been well-preserved, and visitors can get an opportunity to see them from a close range and take their photographs. 

During the period of the royal kingdom, Maharajas visited this forest for hunting. The whole park is spread over an area of 1,334 square kilometers, and there are the highest number of tigers available in this national park. 

One can still find traces of a few historical forts and ruins in this national park. Besides tigers, visitors can also see leopards, sloth bears and several different species of birds.

Tadoba National Park, Maharashtra

This national park is located in Maharashtra, India. This is one of the largest forest areas, covering almost 625 square kilometers. There are an estimated 100 tigers available in this national park. 

In addition to tigers, one can also see leopards, sloth bears and different species of birds. Its beauty brings many visitors to this national park.

Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh

This national park is in the MP (Madhya Pradesh) state of the country and is located in the center of the country. This area is spread over 940 square kilometers, and 100 tigers are preserved in this national park. 

In addition to the tiger population, visitors can also come across a few other animals, such as leopards and chitals. You can also come across 1000 different varieties of flowers in this park, which adds further attraction to this park.  

Bandhavgarh National Park, Madhya Pradesh

One more national park in M.P. state is Bandhavgarh National Park, where tigers can be seen. This park’s name can also be found in the mythological story of Ramayana. Lord Rama had gifted this forest to his brother Lakshmana. 

This park is spread over 100 square kilometer area of land, and in addition to that, its buffer zone area covers 400 square kilometer area. Besides the tiger, there are 250 different varieties of birds that can be found and 70 different types of butterflies..

Jim Corbett National Park

This national park is located in one of the northern states of India, Uttarakhand. One can see a few tigers in this national park. A British established this park called Jim Corbett in 1936, when India was under the British rule.  

It is estimated that there are 250 tigers residing here. Besides tigers, one can also come across elephants, leopards, and about 600 numbers of different species of plants. This park is an excellent place for safari ride.
